Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.

Much of the interior of our pub dates from the 1500s when an old tenement belonging to a moneylender was rebuilt as a tavern. The chequerboard was the symbol of the money-changer, having its origins in the checked cloth used by the Romans in their calculations ? hence Chancellor of the Exchequer. Our pub once exhibited strange animals discovered by 17th Century explorers and technological marvels of the age.

The Library

add to fav
The Library Pub is THE independent pub on Cowley Road. We are centrally located between Tesco’s and the O2, with a very reasonably priced and extensive range of drinks, friendly staff and dj’s spinning every weekend – ranging from dancehall and reggae to disco and funk to hip hop and soul. If it’s hot, we got!

We have two bars and a well-sized and excellently laid out garden with heaters and smoking shelters. We also have international beers which are regularly updated depending on the season and we also have the good old favourites too.

So don’t be a stranger. And remember, if your mum rings when here, you can be guilt free and tell her you are bossin’ it in the Library. And she’ll like that…

The White Rabbit
Sunday Opens : 07:00 | Closes : 17:00

The White Rabbit

add to fav
The White Rabbit is a newly opened, independent pub in the centre of Oxford. Run by old friends in our twenties, we’re passionate about beer, pizza, and music.

Pizza and a pint is what we believe in. All of our ingredients are carefully selected by our Italian head chef, with our best ingredients imported from Italy every week. We make over ten kilograms of dough each day using Italian flour. Our toppings are simple and authentic, our flavours are fantastic!

We have a wide range of local ales and promote independent breweries. All of the ales that we sell are SIBA certified and brewed within twenty-five miles of the pub. For lager drinkers our best-seller is Italian Birra Morretti imported from the continent. Ultimately, we are proud to sell what we want, at the price we’d want to pay.

Actively involved in the local music scene we have regular live performances.
